There's going to be a little rearranging of at least two sections in the forums tonight, so if you're browsing in one spot and come out in another, don't worry; it wasn't you, it was me.

    P.S.
I turned it on its head [the forum], but it's a good upside-down, not the weird upside-down of a bad LSD trip. Or so I hear.

    Imagine. Learn. Share.

Three concepts that embody a majority of what we do as writers. It begins with inspiration, an idea we sketch out and try to capture. It continues as we learn how to hone and improve our craft. It culminates when we share our work with others. Those concepts fuel the heart of the ILS, a community for creativity with a heavy focus on writing and writing improvement. It doesn't matter at what stage you find yourself in your career or abilities when you find us; we always work to provide material relevant to your needs.

The forum is divided into distinct sections based on the trinity tenants:

    IMAGINE:
All the things that keep us inspired, Imagine offers you the tools to tease those creative brain centers into hyperactivity by encouraging you to share your thoughts, ideas, and difficulties with other writers while having fun practicing what you love most.

Ask any writing-related questions of other creative minds in the Brainstorm.
Play word games and practice character creation in the Workshop.
Get help with building new worlds in Worldbuilding.
And participate in our regular writing challenges in the Challenge section, where winners earn perks, like new user titles, a feature article on the front page, and promotion of their work on and off the site.

    LEARN:
Without the ability or desire to learn, there is no ability to grow and improve. Contained within Learn are the tools, resources, and tips to help you along your journey of improvement, wherever it may lead. Whether you're a weekend hobbyist, a fan-fiction aficionado, or professional author, there's always something left to learn.

Get targeted feedback on content, prose, and grammar in Critiques.
Learn what you may have overlooked, or find that piece that never quite clicked in the Guides and How-To's.
Find out how others have pushed through the doldrums in Writer's Block.
And check out the wealth of knowledge shared by others in the Writing Resources.

    SHARE:
The result of hard work, passion, and dedication; there's no reason to keep that joy to yourself. Sometimes looking at the finished product is the best part of writing, but it can be hard to find an audience for your work. Within Share you don't need to try, because the audience is already here.

Post your stories, long and short, in the Library purely for exposure, appreciation, and pleasure. [Prerequisite: The Rules]
Post artwork, photography, and film in the Gallery.
Share your poems and songs, whether typed up or recorded and performed, in Poetry & Lyrics.
And get some love on your personal blog in the handy-dandy Blog Roll.

But the ILS knows writing isn't always restricted to "plot this", "spit-ball that", "write write write write write". Sometimes you really need a break from the pressure of your personal projects, but you don't want to leave the words behind. Here is an excellent niche for roleplaying. The ILS offers a simple, straight forward roleplaying section in Roleplay Central, which covers all the basics so you can jump right in and fire up a new story, or join one already in progress. The benefit of burying a roleplaying section in a site for writers, of course, is we don't cater enough to people more interested in roleplaying than writing, so the people who stay are the people who share a vision of the same kind of RP you're looking for; well-thought out posts contributing to a solid story arc, or "The Elusive Interactive Story". You thought it was just a myth, but if the truth behind the myth can be found anywhere, it's within the pages of the ILS.

Imagine, learn, and share, my friends, and enjoy your stay at the ILS!
